Progear Prescription Sports Goggles are built for students, club players and active adults in Ireland who need impact protection without giving up clear prescription vision. ASTM F803-03 certification makes them suitable for school and club sports where fast movement, close contact and sudden impact can put ordinary eyewear under pressure.

The base package includes the frame, a protective case, a cleaning cloth and safety lenses as standard. Buy New Specs supplies this model for wearers who need sports eyewear that performs like protective equipment.

Why Choose Progear Prescription Sports Goggles?

  • The super tough polycarbonate frame gives the structure needed for PE, school matches, club training and competitive activity.
  • The slanted V-shape design supports high-impact lens retention inside the frame geometry.
  • EN 166 protection goggle certification strengthens its role as serious protective eyewear.
  • The removable neoprene band stabilises the frame during running, jumping and turning.
  • The washable Velcro fastener allows the strap to be cleaned, reset and adjusted.
  • The unisex design suits athletes who need prescription assistance, including wearers who normally choose men’s prescription glasses or women’s prescription glasses outside sport.
  • We source this model for people who need a stronger answer than standard sports prescription glasses with limited side containment.

How Do Progear Prescription Sports Goggles Fit?

Choosing the correct size is essential because a sports goggle must sit securely without sliding, pinching or leaving the lens area poorly aligned with your pupils. The removable neoprene band holds the frame close during active use, while the Velcro fastener allows controlled tension.

  • Small: Small Child
  • Medium: Teens, no longer available
  • Large: Small Adult
  • Xtra Large: Average Adult

A secure fit helps the safety design work correctly. Buy New Specs recommends checking the size carefully before ordering.

What Lens Options Are Available for Progear Prescription Sports Goggles?

Progear Prescription Sports Goggles are glazeable from +4.0 to -6.0 dpt, with cyl +2.0dpt, giving many wearers a practical route into certified prescription sports eyewear. Accurate prescription details matter because the lenses must support vision while staying compatible with the high-retention frame design.

The lens choice depends on your prescription, activity and visual habits. Some wearers may need single-vision support similar to prescription reading glasses for close tasks off the pitch, while others may use prescription bifocal glasses or prescription varifocal glasses in separate daily eyewear. For sport, the priority is sharp distance vision, stable placement and safe frame performance.

Lens treatments can improve usability in the right context. Wearers who move between schoolwork, training and screens may already use prescription glasses with blue light filter. Those sensitive to reflections in halls, gyms or floodlit areas may consider anti-glare prescription glasses for standard eyewear, while keeping the sports goggle focused on certified impact protection.

How Does This Model Support Everyday Use?

This model supports the move between school sport, PE, club matches and high-intensity activities. Standard plastic frame prescription glasses can work well for routine wear, but they are not built around the same retention geometry, strap support or certified impact protection. Metal frame prescription glasses can provide refined everyday structure, but they are not intended for the same contact and movement demands.

Buy New Specs positions this as the gold standard for sports eyewear when you need stronger containment, a secure strap and a tough frame body. Its unisex form suits players who normally shop across everyday men’s or women’s styles but need one reliable protective solution.

For lower-impact daily environments, we also offer prescription glasses that react to light for changing outdoor conditions and professional reglazing prescription glasses services where an existing suitable frame can be fitted with updated lenses. Those options serve different purposes. This goggle is made for sports protection first.

How to Order Your Frames Online

Ordering online starts with selecting the correct size and entering your prescription details carefully. For sports glazing, accurate sphere, cylinder, axis and pupillary distance information helps the lab prepare lenses that match your vision and the frame requirements. If anything is unclear, our team can guide you before processing.

Buy New Specs provides nationwide dispatch, so customers across Ireland can order from home. Customer support is available for prescription questions, fit guidance and order checks.

Please check sizing before confirming the order. Exchanges for different sizes will incur a fee for replacement lenses because new lenses must be prepared for the replacement frame. Our return policy applies to eligible orders, but prescription sports eyewear should be reviewed carefully because the lenses are made to your optical data.

How to measure your glasses

The best guide for you is to look at your current spectacles. The measurements in millimeters can usually be found on the inside of the frame, on the arm or on the nose bridge. They will look something like this: (example) - 46-20-135

If the measurements are worn away then a mm ruler can be used to measure your old glasses.

1st number - Lens width: Related to your eye size, and typically in the range of 46 (small) to 56 (large) (where the lens is)

2nd number - Bridge width: This is where you nose sits. Typically this is between 15 and 20.

3rd number - Side Length: 130 (short), 135 (medium) and 140 (long) (from lens to the end piece of your ear) We don't quote this number as a high percentage of frames are size 135
